Lorrie and I were married in January 1953  (we were teenagers).  We learned a little about bridge from Lorrie’s mother. Then in 1964 I began playing bridge on my lunch hour. That grew into a monthly couples game of party bridge  (more party than bridge).  After moving from Michigan to Florida in 1981 we joined a marathon bridge group, through our church. In 1986 we took the duplicate step and played in Fran’s game at the Winter Park Civic Center. When the OMBC opened in 1989 we were hooked on bridge and played two nights a week.

In 1993, I took  the director test. With Martha’s guidance, I passed it.  After making Life Master in 1994 I became an Accredited Teacher.  In 1999 I began a long tenure as bridge director/lecturer on cruise ships. This has enabled Lorrie and me to see much of the world.  I have owned games at the OMBC but in recent years I have been directing for other OMBC clubs as well as doing some teaching and directing at private country clubs. In March 2010 I became owner and director of the OMBC Saturday open game “Bridge Magic”.
