Sorry about taking so long to respond.

Many Orlando area ACBL members, myself included, are dismayed and disappointed by the OMBC debenture note holders vote to remove the concept of membership from the OMBC's Articles of Incorporation. Player fees could be used to pay down the debt, build a reserve fund, offer players a better experience, and/or improve the facility. Instead the governance decisions of the not-for-profit corporation seem oriented towards benefiting club owners and debenture note holders. We offered to buy the debenture notes at 0% interest. Most not-for-profits would jump at the opportunity to lower expenses. The OMBC Board had no interest. It is a sad time for Orlando area ACBL members.

After learning of the decision of the OMBC Board and the debenture note holders, I had a hard time reconciling my volunteer work for the NABC with the way the Orlando area ACBL members have been treated. I told John Moschella of my intention to resign. He asked me to holdoff on my decision, pointing out the volunteer work benefits the ACBL. After carefully considering John's recommendation, my thoughts have not changed. The way Orlando players have been treated is a disgrace. It would be painful to serve on the Committee with members who support the way the OMBC treats ACBL members.

I have identified a likely event sponsor. Please accept this email as my resignation from the Committee. I will professionally transition work to my replacement.

Jane and I have received an email from Wendy Sullivan stating that she will be in Orlando on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 for our only planning meeting for our Fall 2016 NABC.

The meeting will be held at the Dolphin Hotel at 1:30PM that day. We would appreciate very much if you can arrange your schedule and will be able to come. This will be our 1st meeting with she and Steve Bates (DIC) in regards to our NABC and will not meet again until 2 weeks prior to the actual event.

We will back in touch as to the exact location of the meeting.

Please call or email me as to how you are doing on the fundraising. We need to tell her asap if we wish to upgrade the prizes and the registration gifts.
